After over twenty years of arranging a vast array of fundraising events, both locally and abroad, Jill and Claire Ritchie present this workshop on conceptualising, planning and arranging events. Jill is the author of Successful Fundraising Events, the only book devoted to event fundraising written by a South African for South Africans. They will share their experiences in organising hundreds of events, from evenings with rugby, cricket and soccer heroes and entertainment greats to auctions and dinners at various embassies and high commissions around the globe. They advise on running competitions, carnivals and theatre gala evenings and have often raised more than R1million from one event. Whether one wishes to hold an event for a CBO, school, church or club, a university or large national NPO, this course is ideal. Attendees will learn to assess the viability of an idea before wasting time, energy or money. The critical issue of budgeting is covered through an easy and logical process, tips are given for involving celebrities and the subject of seeking sponsorship is demystified.
Amongst others, topics include:

  • Event planning
  • Ticket selling
  • Identifying venues
  • Publicity and PR for events
  • Catering
  • Check lists.

Delegate receive a copy of Successful Fundraising Events that include a set of checklists to make the organising of your next event easier. Join us for this intensive, interactive and fun-filled session in which Jill and Claire share their secrets of arranging successful fundraising events, thereby helping you to avoid pitfalls in future.

An optional additional service, only for events course delegates, is the opportunity to send fundraising event plans for the coming year and a detailed plan and budget per event, to the Papillion team for comment and advice. (Note: this does not include a re-write or edit but comment and advice only, as an extension of the learning gained during the course.)
